Champions League : a night to remember for Tomas Chory
Viktoria Plzen’s European future was at stake on Wednesday during the last Matchday of the Champions League group stage. The Czech Republic champions needed to beat AS Roma to be transferred to the Europa League.
Plzen reached their aim as they have beaten (2-1) the semi-finalists of the last edition. A prestigious win earned thanks to a player seen at the Maurice Revello Tournament 2016 : Tomas Chory.
The giant striker (2m00 !) has confirmed his good form (two goals scored in his last two league games) as he netted the winner against AS Roma with a diving header.
By scoring his first ever European goal, the 23-year-old forward helped Viktoria Plzen to continue their European adventure and to realize in the same time their best run in the UEFA Champions League : the Czech side totalized 7 points, a tally never reached before this edition.
