Less than a month before the start of the first edition of the Sud Ladies Cup, from 5th to 10th June, the four teams are trying to prepare in the best way. Constantly improving, Haiti had a historical and promising 2017-2018 season.

The young Haitian surely didn't imagine that. While men and women football is rising in Haiti, the U20 women national squad benefited of this fast-growing and did a remarkable 2017-2018 season, already historical even before its end.

For the first time in their history, Haiti will take part to the U20 women World Cup in August in France. The Young Caribbeans get their qualification in January, after a wonderful and astonishing U20 CONCACAF.

Thanks to their wins over Trinidad and Tobago (3-2) and Costa Rica (3-2), they perfectly started their qualifyers. Despite their loss against Canada during the last group game (4-0), they qualified for the semi-finals owing to their two previous victories.

In semi-final, Marc Collat's players held on against one of the biggest women football nations, United States, by pushing them to penalty shoot-out after a draw in the full time (1-1). In spite of they lost it, they clinched the third spot of the competitiong though, after they took their revenge over Canada (1-0) in the third place play-off. This spot on the podium offered them the qualification for the U20 World Cup.

Fully deserved, this qualification was aligned with an end of 2017 totally successful. During CONCACAF qualifyers, Haiti hammered their opponents : 16-0 to Anguilla, 12-0 to St Kitts and Nevis, 7-0 do Dominican Republic, or 3-1 to Cuba.

Now preparing the World Cup, Haiti will try to maintain this euphoria during the Sud Ladies Cup. Where Marc Collat and his squad will face Germany, that they will meet during World Cup group round in August...
