France get the upper hand over Germany
Second win in a row for "Les Bleuettes" in this first edition of the Sud Ladies Cup. France beat Germany at stade d'Honneur of Salon-de-Provence (2-0).
The squad led by Gilles Eyquem earned a second successive win in this Sud Ladies Cup. After they get over Haiti (5-0), France confirmed by beating the Nationalmannschaft (2-0). The numerous spectators in stands enjoyed the good display made by the French. Who quickly found the net.
On a corner kick shot by Khelifi, Emelyne Laurent striked a header and scored thanks to a mistake from the goalkeeper (31'). The Germans couldn't doubt as they conceded the second one a minute later. The right back Pauline Dechilly crossed for... Tanja Pawollek, who deflected the ball in her own net (32').
These both goals waken up Germany. A few minutes before the end of the first half, the Eagles created themselves two chances (36' and 42'). France kept developing an attractive display but lacked some composure in the finishing. At the conclusion of a superb action, Emelyne Laurent lost her duel against Leiztig, the keeper.
In second half, the Germany, dressed with a green jersey, kept more the ball but couldn't create the danger. They could reduce the deficit twice (58' and 59') but didn't have the chance with them. The French handled the game and tried to counter thanks to the pace of their forwards. With two wins in two games, they can take the game against Americans on, next sunday, with confidence.
