Runners-up of the Sud Ladies Cup 2019, the three Japanese youngsters just won the AFC Women's Club Championship, the equivalent of the Champions League in Asia !
In order to grow women's football in the continent, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), like both UEFA and CONMEBOL, has launched its elite club competition. Four teams take part in this pilot edition, co-organized with FIFA : the champions of Japon (Nippon TV Beleza), China (Jiangsu Suning), South Korea (Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels) and Australia (Melbourne Victory).

At the end of the three Matchdays, Nippon TV Beleza won the competition ! After being held to a draw by Jiangsu Suning (1-1), the Nadeshiko League champions earned two crucial wins against both Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels (2-0) and Melbourne Victory (5-0).
Three Sud Ladies Cup 2019 runners-up played a role in this historical title : Oto Kanno, Shino Matsuda and Sara Ito : if Kanno and Matsuda took part in all the games, Ito waited until the clash against Melbourne Victory to play her first minutes. Ito made the most of this opportunity as the midfielder, who started the game, scored against the Australia champions !
This is an end of the year to remember for the three players who have also won the AFC Championship U19 with their national team earlier this month.
