Toulon Tournament 1997 : France 2-1 Portugal
This year, France had a number of promising players in their squad : David Trezeguet, Thierry Henry, Nicolas Anelka were the marquee names of the French team. On the other side, Portugal were led by players like Fernando Meira or Luis Boa Morte.
In the final, the Bleuets earned a 2-1 win thanks to Cédric Mouret and Kodjo Afanou, who scored both. Impressive during all the competition, Thierry Henry was named best player of this edition.
Toulon Tournament 2005: France 4-1 Portugal
Unbeaten during all the competition, France and Portugal have reached the final. The Seleçao was outclassed by the Bleuets as France earned a brilliant 4-1 win thanks to a brace from Nicolas Fauvergue, a goal from Rudy Haddad and another one from Jimmy Briand. Joao Moreira was the only scorer for Portugal.
Arnold Mvuemba won the best player award while Steve Mandanda was named best goalkeeper.
