Abraham, O’Connor, Imbula : a week of milestones on the international scene for the Maurice Revello Tournament graduates
The current international break allowed some Maurice Revello Tournament graduates to either earn their first international cap or score their first goal with their national team.
In a goalscoring form with Chelsea since the start to the season (10 goals in 12 Premier League games), the Maurice Revello Tournament 2018 winner has netted his first goal for the Three Lions on this Thursday. For his fourth international cap, the 22-year-old striker has found the net during the Euro 2020 qualifier against Montenegro (7-0).
Following his solid performances at the Maurice Revello Tournament 2019 (he started all the games for Ireland), the 19-year-old right-back has been signed by Celtic. Even if he hasn't forced his way yet into the Scottish champions first-team, he has caught the eye of the Ireland senior team head coach, Mick McCarthy. The latter handed him his first cap with the Boys In Green on this Thursday during the friendly against New-Zealand (3-1). The Celtic youngster made the most of this opportunity as he delivered an assist in the last minutes of the game.

If he took part in the Maurice Revello Tournament 2013 with France, the 27-year-old midfielder has decided to represent the Democratic Republic of Congo at the senior level. The Lecce player made his debut with Les Léopards during the AFCON 2021 qualifier against Gabon (0-0). The Congolese will continue their campaign on Monday as they will travel to Gambia in order to face the group's leaders.
